Instrumentation & Controls Technician
Installs, calibrates, verifies and troubleshoots instrumentation and control devices, then proves the signal path from field device through I/O, controller and system response.
TRIFECTA deploys industrial controls, process automation, instrumentation and power-monitoring capability across BUILD, COMMISSION and OPERATE, ranging from field execution to integration and commissioning leadership.
Industrial/process automation, instrumentation, SCADA, and power monitoring. Routine BMS/HVAC maintenance is outside this lane.
Installs, calibrates, verifies and troubleshoots instrumentation and control devices, then proves the signal path from field device through I/O, controller and system response.
Checks out field devices, panels, control power, I/O and communications, verifies wiring and terminations, and resolves field conditions before startup.
Directs controls checkout and startup activity at the work front, coordinates with electrical, mechanical and OEM teams, and clears escalated system issues.
Configures, integrates and troubleshoots PLC, SCADA, HMI and industrial automation systems supporting critical process, power and facility infrastructure, including communications, data acquisition and system integration where required by the mission.
Performs loop checks and functional testing, validates sequences of operation, and supports integrated startup and commissioning.
Leads the automation and controls commissioning program, maintains change discipline and version control, and carries responsibility for controls execution.
A mission may require interpreting control drawings, schematics, P&IDs and sequences of operation; supporting the installation and checkout of field devices, instrumentation, control panels, control power, I/O and communications; verifying wiring, terminations and point-to-point connections; and resolving field conditions before startup.
A mission may require tracing the complete loop from the field device through I/O, controller logic, permissives, interlocks, industrial networks, SCADA/HMI, and PMCS/EPMS to final equipment response; performing loop checks and functional testing; validating sequences; and supporting integrated startup and commissioning.
A mission may require using alarms, trends, system status and field evidence to prove the fault; distinguishing controls conditions from electrical, mechanical, OEM, communications or process conditions; troubleshooting live industrial, process or power-monitoring systems; executing authorized changes under change control; and preserving backups, version awareness and a controlled recovery path.
A mission may require directing controls checkout, startup or commissioning activities; coordinating controls professionals, field teams, OEMs and other disciplines; resolving escalated system issues; maintaining change discipline; communicating system state and consequence; and carrying responsibility for controls execution within the assigned scope.
